Etihad unveils A330neo cabin configurations with four First suites

Etihad Airways disclosed cabin configurations for its incoming Airbus A330neo fleet at Arabian Travel Market in Dubai on 5 May 2026, with the first aircraft scheduled to enter service in September 2027. The carrier will add 15 A330neo aircraft over five years, each configured with four First suites, 24 Business seats and 252 Economy seats, totalling 280 seats per aircraft.

First suite specifications and layout#

Each of the four First suites will include a closing door, a 32-inch screen, wireless charging, dedicated storage and a personal powder station. The suites are designed to allow passengers to dine or socialise with a companion. The airline stated the A330neo introduction forms part of a $20 billion investment in new aircraft and customer experience, including a $1 billion fleet retrofit programme.

Business cabin configuration and seating#

The Business cabin will feature 24 forward-facing, fully lie-flat seats, each with direct aisle access and a sliding door. Passengers will receive a 17.3-inch screen, wireless and wired charging, a large table and dedicated personal storage. Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves stated the airline was extending the concept developed on its A321LR to a wider part of its network.

Economy seating and legroom options#

The Economy cabin will hold 252 seats, with 32 of those in an Extra Legroom section that provides four additional inches of pitch. Seats will be fitted with Etihad's fixed-wing headrest design, 13.3-inch 4K touchscreens and charging points for personal devices. The A330neo will be deployed on regional and medium-haul services, targeting markets where the carrier identifies demand for premium travel options.

Fleet expansion and First Class strategy#

The carrier intends to expand First Class seating across its fleet over the next five years using both new deliveries and retrofit work. Etihad previously added First suites to its A321LR single-aisle fleet, reporting that passengers have selected flights based on the availability of that aircraft type. The A330neo programme applies the same cabin approach to the airline's widebody operations on regional and medium-haul sectors.
