Saudi Ports Authority Mawani has opened registration for developers, operators, shipping companies and logistics providers to express interest in a 2.4 million square metre logistics zone in Al Khumra, Jeddah. The registration period runs until 20 November 2026 through Mawani's online platform, according to a statement published by the authority.

The Al Khumra site sits on Saudi Arabia's western coast with direct logistics connectivity to Jeddah Islamic Port. It connects to seven major ports along the western coast, including Jeddah Islamic Port and King Abdullah Port, and is located near King Abdulaziz International Airport. The site's proximity to the proposed Saudi Landbridge rail project, planned to connect the Kingdom's eastern and western regions, positions it for distribution and trade gateway functions serving markets across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Scope and Investment Framework#

Mawani is seeking partners to develop and operate the integrated logistics zone for storage, consolidation and re-export activities. The authority signed seven agreements worth nearly SAR 1 billion in July 2026 with national and international companies to establish and expand logistics centres at Jeddah Islamic Port and the Al Khumra logistics zone, covering more than 384,000 square metres. The current tender represents a separate opportunity for private-sector investment in the 2.4 million square metre development.

Alandalus Property announced that its subsidiary Marafiq Alandalus Allujistiyah acquired a 44,550 square metre plot in the Al Mashael District in Riyadh from Ahmad Suleiman AlFahad wa Awladuh Company for $22 million, according to a Saudi bourse filing. The land will be used for logistics warehouses and associated facilities, with the financial impact expected to appear in the company's Q4 2026 statements. Funding was arranged through internal resources and bank facilities.
